I'll take insults for $1,000, Alex.

A contestant on "Jeopardy" on Friday managed to botch her question, lose the game and insult liberals... all at the same time.

The "Final Jeopardy" answer was:

The flower pictured here is called this, also a disparaging term for people on the political left.

"I have a feeling that you may have found a way to insult liberals in this country," host Alex Trebek predicted before revealing the response from Becky Sullivan.

"What is a pansy," she wrote.

"Yep, you found a way to insult liberals in this country," Trebek said.

The correct response was a bleeding heart

Sullivan bet -- and lost -- her entire $6,000 on the response. On the other hand, she became an instant hero to conservatives on social media:

Sullivan, an NPR producer, explained her response on Twitter:

Sullivan also wrote that she didn't lose everything. By finishing second, she won $2,000

Her opponent named the correct flower to win the game.

"Although I do like pansy," Trebek admitted.

The clip is on the show's Facebook page with the comment "File this under 'Unexpected Responses.'"
