You may think you designed a truly groovy Halloween costume, but nothing's worse than showing up to find everyone else had the exact same idea.

Google's new Frightgeist map prevents this horror by tracking costume trends around the country. It'll tell you the most popular costume in your city -- or at least a city near you -- based on Google searches. That way, you can avoid being the same boring thing as everyone else. 

The top trending costumes in L.A. and San Francisco, for example, are Star Wars. And in Seattle, the most popular costume is Harley Quinn. In NYC, most people are searching for superhero costumes. And in St. Joseph, Missouri, they want to be... sharks?!
