Luke Gatti, better known on the Internet as the drunk kid at the University of Connecticut who wanted jalapeno bacon macaroni and cheese, has issued an apology.
"I want to start by apologizing to all the staff involved in my incident, especially the manager, he was just doing his job," Gatti says in a video, uploaded Sunday. "He gave me so many chances to walk away and I just didn't listen to him, I was a complete asshole to him."
Gatti conceded he was "very intoxicated" and said he couldn't believe what he did in the video.
The video of him berating a UConn dining hall manager for several minutes over refusal of service went viral last week.
In the video, Gatti repeatedly insults the dining hall employees and shoves the manager several times. Since then, students have tried to fundraise to give the dining hall employees who dealt with Gatti before police arrested him a night out.
Gatti is still enrolled at UConn, though a spokeswoman told HuffPost there will be a disciplinary process that could result in some sort of sanction.
In his apology, Gatti said he "has some problems I am addressing, and this was a serious wake up call."
At the end, Gatti says to the people who apparently want to send him mac and cheese to send it to their local food pantry.
