A Colorado strip club is turning heads, but not for the usual reasons. The Platinum 84 Gentleman's Club in Federal Heights recently won the city's $100 cash prize for having the best Christmas lights display among businesses.
Club representatives said they'll donate the $100 cash prize to a charity that buys Christmas toys for local children. That program, which was set up by a local police officer, has already received $1,200 from the club. A Platinum 84 representative told KDVR that the club raised the money through an event called "Twerking for Toys."
Mayor Joyce Thomas told CBS Denver the strip club has been a "good neighbor" and that the lights "brighten up the area."
Thomas acknowledged some might scoff at Federal Heights awarding top holiday lighting honors to a strip club but said, “I don’t have a problem with it.”
