Christopher Lee Sings Heavy Metal Christmas Songs

Sir Christopher Lee, who has one of the most distinctive voices in film history, has released his latest heavy metal Christmas song.

"Darkest Carols, Faithful Sing," is Lee's take on "‘Hark! The Herald Angels Sing." It's also part of what's become something of a Christmas tradition for the 92-year-old, who released metal versions of "Little Drummer Boy" and "Silent Night" in 2012 as well as "Jingle Hell" and "My Way" last year.

You can hear a portion of the newest song in the clip above, which is a medley of all of Lee's Christmas releases.

“Darkest carols, faithful sing. Glory to the metal kings!” Lee, who has portrayed villains ranging from Dracula to Saruman, sings in his famous baritone.

"At my age, the most important thing for me is to keep active by doing things that I truly enjoy," Lee told Blabbermouth. "I do not know how long I am going to be around, so every day is a celebration and I want to share it with my fans."

Let's hope he's around for many more Christmas releases.

Along with the Christmas tunes, Lee has been actively releasing non-holiday metal songs in recent years, and earned Metal Hammer's "Spirit of Metal" award in 2010.

Just about all of his metal tunes, including the latest Christmas release, are available via Amazon, iTunes and Google Play.
