Charlie Sheen Pledges $1,000 To Burger Joint Server Who Was Tipped 20 Cents By NFL Star

When a football star snubbed a waiter, Charlie Sheen took it upon himself to right the wrong.

NFL player LeSean McCoy visited Philadelphia burger joint, PYT, earlier this week and left his waiter a 20 cent tip on a $61 check. After PYT owner, Tommy Up, publicized the tip amount on Facebook, Sheen responded to the incident on Twitter, saying he would give $1,000 to the server.

"Charlie Sheen is an American hero and a gentleman," the restaurant owner wrote in a Facebook post in response to Sheen's offer.

The owner had posted a picture of McCoy's check to Facebook on Monday, expressing his outrage over the tip:

On Thursday, the NFL player addressed the incident at a press conference, and told reporters that though he's usually a generous tipper, PYT's service just wasn't up to par, according to footage by NFL Now.

"Anybody that knows me won't say I'm disrespectful. In any restaurant I go around in Philadelphia, I tip very well, you know?" McCoy told reporters. "I'm very respectful. I mean if you check on that restaurant ... the backlash it has from everybody talking bad about that place. But [it has] good food."

While waiter Rob Knelly admitted that he forgot the appetizer McCoy's table had ordered, he claims that the NFL star and his friends were impolite during their meal, according to NBC10.

"They were being rude so after I gave them their food I didn’t go back to them until they were done. I just avoided their rudeness," Knelly told the outlet.

Regarding Sheen's actions, the footballer told reporters that though he was glad the actor was doing something nice, he maintained that he did nothing wrong.

"That's cool. I'm happy he's finally doing something positive. On another note, I didn't do anything wrong. If it happened again, I'd do it the same way," he said, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
