Meet Spot.
The new robot dog engineered by Google-owned Boston Dynamics can climb hills, stairs, and even keep its balance after it's given a sharp kick in the side (which happens at the 26-second mark in the video above.)
The electrically-powered Spot moves using a system of hydraulic pumps and valves, along with sensors that help it navigate rough terrain. The bot appears similar to, but smaller than, the company's 240-pound BigDog robot, which was created in 2005.
According to Boston Dynamics, "no robots were harmed in the making of the video."
