French kitchens may soon be going into the toilet, thanks to a new law that allows toilets to be installed in the kitchens.
The government's Minister of Housing and Minister of Ecology recently announced that a law requiring toilets to be kept separate from kitchens and living rooms is being flushed down the drain, according to UPI.com.
Previously, the building code prevented "direct communication between the [bathrooms] and kitchens and living rooms,” according to MetroNews.fr.
The new law means contractors can build new toilets in kitchens and living rooms.
Although some home-builders who are crunched for space might be flush with excitement, the Local.Fr suggests people looking for a home in Paris, Nice or other French cities find their new place before Dec. 1, when the bill goes into effect.
