Shaun The Shaggy Sheep Finally Shorn
Shaun the shaggy Australian sheep has at last been shorn smooth. But the woolly wanderer wasn't the wooliest of them all.
The sheep apparently had been hiding for years on a farm on the island state of Tasmania and had never been shorn. The Australian Broadcasting Corp. reported Thursday that Shaun lost 23.5 kilograms (52 pounds) of wool at his first haircut.
Owners Peter and Netty Hazel had hoped Shaun would beat a record held by a now-deceased New Zealand sheep named Shrek.
Shrek rose to fame in 2004 after he was found hiding in caves on his farm, having evaded the annual shearing roundups for seven years. He had 27 kilograms (60 pounds) of wool shorn off his body. Jon Stewart Loves How Epic HuffPost Headlines Win The Internet
Right in the middle of a segment Thursday night about the indictment against Texas Gov. Rick Perry for abuse of power, "Daily Show" host Jon Stewart had a few words to say about The Huffington Post.
With news commentators noting that even some on the left believe the indictment is weak, Stewart wondered where the "Uber-Liberal Sideboob Gazette" stands on the issue.
And that's when his screen switched to an image of the HuffPost with Rick Perry's mug shot and the headline:
RICK PERRY'S EPIC MUG SHOT WILL CHANGE EVERYTHING YOU THOUGHT YOU KNEW ABOUT WINNING THE INTERNET
"That doesn't even make sense," Stewart said. "And yet I want to click on it."
(For the record, that was not an actual HuffPost headline... but if you'd like to send in a resume, Jon, we'd be happy to consider it.)

What Is That Loose White Powder In Your Easy Mac And Cheese?
If you're feeling really hungry, you may not even notice the loose, white powder strewn among the noodles in your single serving cup of Kraft Triple Cheese Macaroni & Cheese.
Kraft doesn't promise "natural ingredients," and with a nuclear orange cheese powder that comes ready to stir from an aluminum packet, it'd be foolish to think "natural" is what you're getting. Ahem:

But even before you stir in that iconic cheese powder, your uncooked noodles are already dressed with a bit of powder.

You can probably mix up a bowl of instant mac and cheese with your eyes closed, which means you rarely read the label. Upon closer inspection you'll see this little note:

So, what exactly is this mystery macaroni dust? The Huffington Post reached out to the Kraft Foods Consumer Center, where a representative identified the stuff simply as "modified food starch." According to the representative, the starch is added to prevent the product from boiling over in the microwave. Starch thickens water, which keeps it from boiling so violently.
It's good to know that this little addition to the noodle bowl is keeping microwaves from becoming a mess; chances are, if you're eating a portable bowl of something promoted as "cheesy made easy," you're not planning to spend a lot of time on clean up.
Modified starch is pretty common. It's used in other foods, like desserts and frozen goods, as a thickening agent. Still, if you're turned off by the loose powder and want to be in control of what tops your noodles, we welcome you to try any one of these homemade recipes. Happy cheesin'.

This Map Shows Every Connected Device On The Internet
Here's a new way of looking at the world: A map showing the location of every single device connected to the Internet.
The image was created by John Matherly, founder of Shodan, a search engine for connected devices. He pinged every device online, then mapped the location of the ones that responded:
The colors show how many devices are in an area. The redder the dot, the more the devices. The bluer, the fewer. Some areas have no dots, and you'll notice a single dot near the middle of Greenland.
A user on reddit, 2pete, identified it as a NOAA observatory.
Matherly explained how he created the map on Twitter:
"(T)he technical aspects are very straight-forward: send a PING request to every IP on the Internet, store positives response then plot them on a map," he wrote.
On reddit, he offered some more details:
"My ping request would only reach whatever is directly connected to the Internet (i.e. your modem), which for a lot of people is their router," Matherly wrote. "Note that it does also reach phones sometimes, I've seen iPhone/Android devices pop up on Shodan before."
It took about five hours to get the data, Matherly said, and another 12 hours to create the map.
Matherly wrote on Twitter that he collected the data on Aug. 2, and that he plans to do this again and track the changes over time.
"I would expect certain areas (especially in Africa) to become brighter, but the only way to know for sure is to gather empirical data and keep track of it that way," he wrote on reddit.
For those interested in more details and the problem with trying to map data in some areas, read the full discussion on reddit.

Protestors Hold Candlelight Vigil For Hawaii's Solar Industry
As the sun set over downtown Honolulu on Monday, mourners gathered for an intimate candlelight vigil. The group -- concerned residents mingled with members of Hawaii's Sierra Club -- sang songs and passed around a "Get Well Soon" card as a single solar panel lay on a stretcher, "hooked up" to life support. Behind them stood the offices of the Hawaiian Electric Company (HECO), the largest utility supplier in the state.
The demonstrators were mourning solar power. Once heralded as a shining model for the rest of the country, Hawaii's solar industry has stalled because of HECO's strict regulations on installations, the protestors said.
"We have a solar panel on a stretcher ... to represent how the industry is doing," Sierra Club member Caitlin Pomerantz told local news outlet KITV. "We know that solar has been struggling."
One protestor, Will Walker, said he installed solar panels on his roof eight months ago. According to KITV, he "was told that HECO was looking into hooking them to the energy grid," but so far nothing has happened.
"I don't have faith in HECO anymore doing the right thing on their own," Walker said. "I think it will take the people pushing them in the right direction."
In April, the state's Public Utilities Commission gave HECO 120 days to outline and submit plans that would hopefully answer these and other concerns. The company's outline, which was officially filed with the Commission on Tuesday, promised to "nearly triple" the amount of solar power the company provides, have 65 percent of its energy come from renewable sources, lower costs by 20 percent and create a state-of-the-art grid for these new options.
"A clear, open planning process will let customers and solar contractors know how much more solar can be added each year," HECO said in a statement. "Grid enhancements will make possible increased integration of solar power. And optimized control settings for solar equipment will improve safety and reduce the risk of power outages."
But critics of HECO's ambitious plan have their doubts.
“My initial thought," Colin Yost of Hawaii-based solar company RevoluSun told area news station KHON2, "is that there are parts that are encouraging and parts that are clearly going to change and not be accepted by the [Public Utilities Commission]. ... They’ve also talked about increasing the charge for customers with solar that have to pay that increase. We think that is dead on arrival."
The Commission is currently in the process of reviewing HECO's plans and will decide whether or not they are aligned with the state's energy goals.
Let's just hope HECO followed doctor's orders. Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/28/candlelight-vigil-hawaii-solar_n_5726796.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird+News

Illinois Women Arrested After Meth Lab Found In Church
It may not be one of the Ten Commandments, but it kind of goes without saying that thou shalt not cook meth in a house of worship.
But two women were accused of cooking meth inside a rural southern Illinois church on Wednesday, the Associated Press reports.
Judith Hemken, 53, and Tiffany Burton, 26, were arrested near Hillsboro after a Waveland Hillsboro Presbyterian Church member "noticed activity" in the building on a Tuesday night when it was supposed to be empty, Montgomery County Undersheriff Rick Robbins told the The State Journal-Register. The church member reportedly spotted one woman outside the church and another in its basement, with what appeared to be parts of a meth lab.
The women fled in a car, but were pulled over by police. Officers found a clandestine lab in the church basement and had to extinguish a small fire that started due to the lithium and moisture from a sink drain, the Journal-News reports.
Meth labs have cropped up in other unusual locations, like retirement communities, Walmart and a golf course porta-potty. Robbins told the State Journal-Register he'd never seen a meth cooked in a church before, but he had seen a meth lab at a cemetery.
Neither woman was affiliated with Waveland, Robbins said. Since the alleged lab was inside a church, the women could face enhanced sentences of up to 40 years in prison. Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/28/church-meth-lab_n_5732530.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird+News

Live Stream Captures SWAT Team Charging Into Gamer's Office (VIDEO)
When YouTuber Jordan Mathewson began his live stream Wednesday, playing a first person-shooter video game, he wasn't expecting to end his session on the floor with real guns trained on him.
Mathewson and the rest of his gaming collective apparently fell victim to a prank known as "swatting," where hoaxers force an armed police response by calling in a false report on rival gamers.
Mathewson was about two hours into a game of "Counter-Strike" at the collective's office in Littleton, Colorado, when he heard a commotion outside his door. A SWAT team was searching the place, and they were about to charge into his office. As seen in the video, he quickly picked up on what was happening.
"Uh oh, this isn't good," Mathewson said, pausing the game. "They're clearing rooms. What in the world? I think we're getting swatted."
Things got intense fast. The SWAT team stormed into his room, guns at the ready, shouting at him to get on the ground. When Mathewson did so, slowly, with the movements of someone who still didn't quite believe what was happening.
"Don't you f-----g move," another said.
The Littleton Police Department later told media it had received a call regarding a hostage situation in the building. "The caller claimed to have shot two co-workers, held others hostage, and threatened to shoot them. He stated that if the officers entered he would shoot them as well," the department's statement said, according to local outlet ABC 7News.
As Police Chief Doug Stephens told the outlet: "This is not a game. This is not an online game. We have real guns with real bullets and there’s a potential there for some tragedy.”
Mathewson himself was eventually released by police.
Twitter user @ScrewPain has claimed responsibility for the prank, though it's not clear if the user was actually behind the swatting. In a followup story, ABC 7News said Littleton police brought "someone in for questioning in connection to the incident, but that person was released, pending a further investigation."
The incident captured on Mathewson's live stream was re-uploaded by YouTube user Armund Johansen. Check out that video, above. Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/28/kootra-swatting-swat-team-livestream_n_5732400.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird+News

Swarm Of Bees Attacks Blake Lively, Teaches Her That Age Is But A Number
Blake Lively, person who was on "Gossip Girl" and recently made a "creepy" lifestyle blog, was attacked by a swarm of bees on her birthday. She recounted her experience with this different sort of "bee day" (pun intended, by her) over at Preserve:
As common as violent physical reactions to aging a year in your mid- to late-20s might seem, Lively's visceral experience was actually many bees using their butts to sting her.
After escaping the swarm, she decorated a vanilla cake. It was while baking she realized that the bees had used their venom to combat the fear brought on by the ephemerality of the human condition. Of course!
"It took a swarm of bees to remind me that a b-day is nothing but a number. Each day I choose my age," she wrote, presumably squinting at the screen with puffy eyes, doing her best to type with swollen hands. "Today it’s 27, going on 2."
Thanks for teaching Blake Lively that lesson, bees. We leave you with this:

I felt an electric shock of energy-- was it excitement that I was about to turn another year older? Was it nerves? Why did it feel like agony? I like getting older ... I think.
But this felt terrible. Does your butt quite suddenly (and painfully) deflate when you turn 27? Because mine hurt like hell …then my neck, back, legs and forehead. And oh my hands! They were shriveling. It felt like I was being shot by dozens of tiny invisible darts. I felt like the Wicked Witch, melting, melting, burning, melting.

Here's Your First Look At The 'American Horror Story: Freak Show' Cast
This is CRAZY! Prepare yourself.
The official cast art poster for "American Horror Story: Freak Show" is here, and it gives us our first look at the actors in their freaky costumes. Kathy Bates is the bearded lady, Effel Darling, her ex-husband is Michael Chiklis as the strong man, Angela Bassett is Desiree Dupree, who from the looks of the poster has three breasts (although FX would not confirm), and Jessica Lange's Elsa Mars is in the center reigning supreme (no pun intended) over her cast of freaks. Evan Peters appears on the bottom right as Jimmy Darling, son of Effel and Chiklis' character, oh, and the poster also offers an amazing first front-view look at Sarah Paulson's two heads, Bette and Dot.

What's that you say? You're still not excited and creeped out? No worries, there's also a brand new teaser to give you another taste of the craziness that's to come. It shows someone/thing trapped in a birdcage -- that caged creature is also included in the cast art poster on the bottom left. On top of the three-legged woman, split-tongued man and creepy hand, we're beyond thrilled for what's been brewing in Ryan Murphy's imagination. Check out the latest teaser below and join us in analyzing the poster to try to figure out who the rest of the characters could be.
"American Horror Story: Freak Show" premieres on Oct. 8 on FX.

Herd Of Deer Encounters Strange New Creature Called 'Cat'
What happens when a small group of deer and a cat come in contact for the first time? We think it will go a little something like this...
Okay, well, actually you can find out by watching the video. So, please, enjoy this video of a cat and a small group of deer trying to figure each other out. Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/28/deer-and-cat-meet_n_5730274.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird+News
From the journal of Captain Buck Bambi:
"It's been three days since we left the forest, and we've come across a bizarre little creature. We initially called it a 'Slippers,' since that was the name on the tag, but have since learned it's called 'cat.' The cat seems as curious about us as we are of it, but will let us only get so close. Further investigation has shown the cat appears to enjoy batting around our short flopping tails and works itself into a frenzy over a curious red dot the humans control. More as it develops."

Warning: This Video May Induce Arachnophobia
What's your first instinct if you come across a giant spider's nest? While most might say "run," one brave man took a wholly different approach: He poked it with a stick.
YouTube user angryrhyno, who shot the footage in Jersey, Channel Islands, writes:

Florida Mom Hangs Up On Call About Missing Child To Strip: Cops
A Florida mother is accused of hanging up on an officer inquiring about her missing child because she had to get on stage at a strip club.
Bobbey Jo Boucher, a 29-year-old stripper at Calendar Girls strip club in Hudson, was charged with misdemeanor obstruction, WTSP reported.
The mother allegedly left her 10-year-old daughter at a BBQ on Wednesday afternoon before going to work, but when the girl did not return from the barbecue, her grandmother called the police, according to documents obtained by The Smoking Gun.
Pasco County Sheriff’s Deputies called Boucher to inform her that her daughter was missing, but Boucher allegedly told the cop on the phone “I have to get on stage” before hanging up.
The officer alleged that Boucher refusing to speak meant that authorities were unable to enter the girl’s information into a missing child registry.

New Study Reveals Interesting Link Between Men's Height And Divorce
Tall or short may affect more than just a man's suit size -- according to a new study it may also impact the success of his marriage.
Sociologists from NYU combed through data using the Panel Study of Income Dynamics (PSID) -- which has collected information on the same 4,500 families since 1968.
For the study, researchers analyzed data from 1986 -- the first year height was recorded -- through 2011 to determine if a man's height affected relationship dynamics. Men were classified as short (less than 66” in 1986; less than 67” in 2009), average, or tall (more than 73” in 1986; more than 74” in 2009).
Researchers also measured income, education and the height difference between spouses once the men were actually married. For example, in 1986, 92.7 percent of men were taller than their spouses; in 2009, 92.2 percent were taller.
From the data, researchers found major differences in relationship patterns between short and tall men.
Love lives of short men:
Short men were found to marry later in life than average or tall men, but were 32 percent less likely to divorce. They were also more likely to marry less educated and younger women. Once married, they did less of the housework and earned a much higher income than their spouse.
Why? The researchers hypothesize that because height is related to masculinity, short men may use other aspects of the relationship -- income, housework -- to demonstrate their manliness. "Short men may exchange their breadwinner status for less housework ... because a lower share of housework or a higher share of relative earnings allow short men to enact traditional gender ideals, thereby performing their masculinity in the absence of symbolic anthropomorphic differences," the researchers write in the paper.
Love lives of tall men:
Tall men were found to marry sooner in life, but were more at risk for divorce later on, as shorter men had more stable marriages. However, researchers note that the link between short men and stable marriages could be because they chose to marry later (or didn't have the option until later).
Tall men were also more likely to marry women closer to their age, and who were better-educated.
Why? "From the perspective of relationship exchange models, this indicates that the tallest men exchange their attractive attribute (height) for better-educated spouses, while short men are unable to do so," the researchers write.
It should be noted that this data suggests a trend which occurred from 1986 to 2011, and of course does not apply to all couples. However, it does shed light on an interesting topic.
As the researchers explain in the paper, "Marriage and divorce have implications for socioeconomic stratification and asset accumulation, our observed effects suggest that men’s height may indirectly affect their economic status and socioeconomic mobility through these demographic processes."
What do you think of the findings? Sound off below!

10 'If We're Not Married By...' Pacts That Actually Panned Out
In sitcoms and rom-coms, there's no shortage of marriage pact plot lines in which on-screen friends promise that if neither one of them is married by a certain age, then the two of them will get together. (Ted and Robin from "How I Met Your Mother" are one notable example.) Seems unlikely, right?
We thought so too. Turns out, this kind of thing does actually happen in real life. Below are 10 accounts of marriage pacts gone right, according to Redditors.
1. "My sister did. Her now-husband was in the navy and she dated other guys. Then the age struck and they got married. No shit. I was at the wedding. They're expecting their first child in two months."
2. "My wife and I met in high school at the age of 16. We told each other that if we weren't married by 30, then we'd get back together and tie the knot. I moved off to a different state for college and after graduation I moved to Chile for four years. I moved back to the states when I was 28, we started dating again and just got married this past May before my 30th birthday. But not because we said we would, but because it just happened that way."

3. "My relationship with my husband started with one of those pacts. We'd been friends for ages, and made one of those daft marriage pacts. I guess it made us think about what it might be like to be married to the other, and it wasn't a bad picture. Became a couple soon after that, and have now been together 12 years."
4. "Made the pact at 17 or 18 with my best friend. I loved her since the moment I met her on a school bus when I was 10 years old. It was one of those 'the world stops' moments when I first saw her. Around the age of 25, we started exploring the possibility of getting serious. The risk was almost too great. The feeling was that, 'If we f**k this up, we lose each other.' I was more than willing to take that risk but she was really scared. After five years of dating with one or two serious moments where we almost didn't make it, we got married in 2010. We now have two girls and I couldn't imagine it any other way. Sure, it wasn't exactly 10 years, but we had to do it our way."
5. "My uncle went through with it. He has two kids and is extremely happy. Funny thing is, he didn't tell anyone about this pact and one day called my dad up and said he was getting married in a month out of the blue. But he's happy so that's all that counts."
6. "When we were 18 my best friend and I said that if neither of us were married by 30, we'd marry each other. We ended up dating at 26 and married at 28."

Courtesy of Eamon and Charlotte
7."This happened with my brother. He made a pact with a girlfriend when they were 19 because she was leaving for America and a breakup was inevitable because of the distance. They stayed friends and eventually got married earlier than expected at 26 instead of 30. They're now expecting their first kid."
8. "I had a similar pact with a girl I met in 2006. We agreed on 2016 as the date we would get married. The interesting twist in our pact was that we agreed that only ONE person needed to initiate it (i.e. if one of us shows up at the other person's doorstep in 2016 and asks to be married, then the other person would be obligated to leave everything -- including any current wife, kids, etc.) We fell in love shortly after making that pact and got married in 2009."
9. "I had one of these pacts with a girl. Then we started dating each other a couple months later and then ended up married. Still together more than 10 years later."
10. "My ex-roommate's story from my recollection: They were in college and it wasn't the right time to settle down. They went their separate ways with the joke that, in 10 years, if they weren't already committed, they would marry. They kept in contact with occasional emails when they remembered, like you do with old friends. She happened to remember the pact and sent him an email laughing about it. She was in the first few weeks of dating someone else so she didn't think he would take it seriously. He sent back an email saying he was going to be in the U.S. in late summer and they could start to plan things then. They got married the next summer and had a child about a year ago. From my view, they seem to really love each other and have a very happy life."

These Classic Songs Are Awesome -- Unless You Hear Them At A Wedding
Walking down the aisle to John Legend's "All Of Me" can make for a magical moment. Strutting to U2's "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For"? Not such a great idea.
As comedian Tim Hawkins reminded us, certain hits are completely wrong for the wedding march -- but make for great comedy!
While this video was uploaded to YouTube in 2012, it's been making the rounds on Reddit and was too good not to share. Enjoy!

Miranda July's New App Will Turn The World Into A Miranda July Film
Nobody explores the space between intimacy and technology quite like Miranda July.
The performance artist, writer and filmmaker continually investigates the shapes of interconnectedness in the digital age, through films like "Me and You and Everyone We Know" and art initiatives like "We Think Alone," in which July's famous friends forwarded their intimate emails to your inbox.
Now July has created an app that will blur the line between digital and personal interaction, and it's called "Somebody." Basically, instead of texting your friend, lover or desired text recipient, your message will be sent to a "Somebody" user in close proximity of the intended receiver, who will then deliver the message in person. You can attach personal touches to your text message, adding actions like "crying," "begin air quotes," "kiss," or "scream."
So instead of reading your texts, the sendee will have the message personally acted out... by a stranger.

"Texting is tacky. Calling is awkward. Email is old," the "Somebody" statement explains. But this app is far more than a new mode of communication. It's an improvised performance between two strangers, an unusual form of puppetry or even possession. "I see this as far-reaching public art project, inciting performance and conversation about the value of inefficiency and risk," July explains.
The app, created with support from Miu Miu, launched at the Venice Film Festival, along with an accompanying short film, which you can see below.
Like most of July's films, the short above blends the magical and the technologically enhanced, the banal and the uncanny, the awkward and the sentimental. But then again, this isn't just a short film; it's a trailer for the app. So, in a potential future where everyone has downloaded "Somebody," we'll pretty much be living in a Miranda July film. If that's not incentive to download the app, we're not sure what is.
"Somebody" works best when there is a critical mass of users in the area, like a party, concert or office. July has already set up official "hotspots" for app users at museums around the country, including the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, The New Museum, Yerba Buena Center for The Arts, Portland Institute of Contemporary Art and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, where it will be part of the exhibition "Conversation Piece," starting October 10.
Learn more about "Somebody" here, and make sure to download the app from iTunes -- yes, it's free. Check out an earlier interview with July here.

This University's Planner Features A Lovely Photo -- Of The Wrong School
Ah, the allure of back-to-school season: the promise of new friends, the return of sweater-weather, crisp new notebooks and a planner, to help you organize it all.
But, you know, we're betting a planner with the rival school on the cover isn't exactly on the top of most students' wish lists.
Washington State University bookstore, The Bookie, distributed a free planner with a photo of a scenic campus on the cover, but, as it turned out, that campus belonged to the University of Washington.
Nearby restaurant Munchy'z Hot Dogs posted a picture of the planner:
According to a WSU official, a publisher mistakenly chose a photo of the other Washington-based university to feature on the planner's cover, The Seattle Times reported. Educators told KREM the mistake wasn't a "huge deal."
The Huffington Post reached out to The Bookie, which is managed by Barnes & Noble, but could not immediately get in contact with someone. Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/28/college-puts-rival-school-on-planner_n_5730180.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird+News

Police Investigate After Human Skull Donated To Goodwill
Who wants your skulls? Who needs your skulls?
Not this Austin Goodwill, that's for sure.
According to KVUE, police in Austin, Texas, are investigating after someone tried to donate a human skull to a local Goodwill store.
An employee at the store found what looked like a real human skull while sorting through donations on July 16. The Travis County Medical Examiner's Office determined it to be human remains from an adult, who may have died two years ago.
Sex and cause of death could not be determined. Police do not suspect foul play, but they would still like to speak with whomever donated it.
"We think it was probably something that belonged to the person who donated it, to a relative of the person who donated it and it was part of a collection or an anatomical model or something like that," said Detective Derek Israel with APD's Homicide Unit. He said it could have belonged to a student of medicine, dentistry or anthropology.
According to KSAT:
“A skull, even a medical skull, is still human remains and needs to be treated with respect,” Kathy Taylor, a forensic anthropologist with the King County Medical Examiner’s Office told the Seattle Times after the Bellevue skulls were discovered. “So you shouldn’t throw them in the trash, you shouldn’t take them home and collect them, and you definitely shouldn’t give them to Goodwill.”
Anyone with information about the skull is asked to call the APD Homicide Unit at (512) 974-5210.

At 100 Lbs., Avtar Singh Mauni May Have World's Largest Turban
Hats off to Avtar Singh Mauni: the 60-year-old holy man may be on the brink of a world record thanks to a 100-pound turban he wears on his head.
The titanic turban measures 2,115 feet when unwrapped -- the same length as 13 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
Mauni spends six hours a day getting it on his head, and his holy headgear is so large that the only way he can get to his local temple in Patiala, Northern India, is via motorcycle, Barcroft TV reports.
The fabric and ornaments add up to around 100 pounds, but the weapons he carries as part of his traditional costume add another 87 pounds.
Tending to the turban is a serious commitment for the devout Sikh, but one he does proudly.
"I don't consider it to be a burden. I'm most happy when I wear it," Mauni said, according to the Daily Mail. "I just keep putting on the cloth from top to bottom one layer at a time just like you would lay the stories of a building.
"On the rare times I don't have my turban on I keep getting this feeling of being incomplete, that some part of me is missing. I get afraid that I may fall and I keep wondering "have I lost something, where is my turban?'"
Currently, the Guinness World Record for world's largest turban is held by fellow Indian citizen Major Singh, whose turban measures 1,312 feet.
Mauni would like the recognition, but admits he wants to have more than just photo ops with his fellow humans.
"When I go out a huge crowd gathers around me. Some are amazed beyond belief and tell me 'You are great for carrying such a large turban,'" he said, according to the Express. "But sometimes all they want is to take a picture, so I loudly tell them to stop. After all it takes me hours to put on my turban and all they want is to take a quick picture and then run away."

Little Boy Learns Mom Is Pregnant, Finds The Idea 'Exasperating'

In the video above, watch as a little boy named Tré expresses his unreserved annoyance at the news that his mom is pregnant.
"What were you thinking?" he exclaims, his arms flailing in vexation as he gestures to himself and his baby sister. "You just had two! This is exasperating."
Yep, he said "exasperating." This is all seriously driving him up a wall. Source: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/08/28/boy-mom-pregnant-exasperated_n_5729310.html?utm_hp_ref=weird-news&ir=Weird+News

Residents Of Noiva Do Cordeiro, Almost All-Woman Town, Seek Bachelors
Life is pretty sweet for the women of Noiva Do Cordeiro.
According to the Telegraph, they have constructed a society in the southeast part of Brazil that is communal, egalitarian and almost all-female.
But some of the women in the town say it would be nice to have a few more dudes in the mix.
"I haven’t kissed a man for a long time," Nelma Fernandes, 23, told the Telegraph. "We all dream of falling in love and getting married. But we like living here and don’t want to have to leave the town to find a husband. We’d like to get to know men who would leave their own lives and come to be a part of ours. But first they need to agree to do what we say and live according to our rules.”
Story continues below ...
There are a few married women in Noiva Do Cordeiro, but their husbands work in cities no closer than 60 miles away and tend to only live in the town on weekends.
Both the Telegraph story and other outlets portray the desire for more members of the opposite sex in the town as a desperate plea to men to help them "shoulder the burdens" of everyday life.
But judging from what the residents have actually said, that doesn't seem like what's going on.
"There are lots of things that women do better than men," Rosalee Fernandes, 49 said. "Our town is prettier, more organized, and far more harmonious than if men were in charge. When problems or disputes arise, we resolve them in a woman’s way, trying to find consensus rather than conflict."
So it appears more like these women have created a society of anarchist anthropologists' dreams and some of them would like to hang out with guys more, provided they don't tear the town's social fabric to shreds.
