College kids have a lot to stress over: There are the midterms, the intolerable roommates, the across-campus classes. Making a cocktail should be the last thing to shake up co-eds.
Sure, obstacles like mini-fridges, limited mixers and teeny, shared dorm kitchens don't lend themselves to the creation of the most elaborate drinks. But the folks over at Hack College have found a fix -- classy drinks any collegiate on a cum laude trajectory will be able to master. Study up and watch the video above for some rudimentary drink recipes worth "cheers-ing" to.
Of course, lazy pupils can purchase this case of 99 beers, but doing so would be pathetically un-résumé worthy.

'Mickey Mouse' And Other Costumed Characters Beat Motorist In Bizarre Road Rage Incident
This is either the world's most bizarre road rage incident or one of the craziest staged pranks you'll ever see.
The clip, caught on camera in Russia over the weekend, shows a motorist stopping a vehicle with which he's had some kind of problem. But as people dressed as Mickey Mouse, Spongebob Squarepants, Scrat from "Ice Age" and some kind of spotted creature jump out and start beating him, he was probably wishing he had just stayed home and watched cartoons.
Australia's 9News reports that the title of the video translates into "severe Chelyabinsk Disney,” implying that the incident took place in the Russian city of Chelyabinsk.
It should be noted, however, that while Mickey Mouse is a Disney character, neither Spongebob nor Scrat are.

Booking A Vacation To Save Your Marriage May Do More Harm Than Good
If you're planning a romantic vacation as a last-ditch effort to save your marriage, you may want to come up with a plan B.
A new survey from UK family law firm Slater & Gordon has found that couples who embark on a "make it or break it" vacation say the trip did more harm than good.
Forty percent of the 2,128 married and divorced British couples surveyed said they had booked a trip specifically to salvage their relationship. However, only 36 percent said it helped; the rest felt it made things worse.
In fact, 40 percent said the vacation added more tension, 27 percent said they decided to split within two weeks of returning from the trip, 15 percent said the vacation made them realize they were no longer in love and 8 percent said they even ended the vacation early.
“Many couples experiencing trouble in their relationship will hope that time away from the stresses and strains of everyday life will solve their issues," explained Amanda McAlister, head of family law at Slater & Gordon.
However there's a flaw in that logic, McAlister said: “One of the fundamental issues is that a holiday environment is essentially an artificial one and the problems that couples have will still be there when they return home," she said.

ANOTHER Plane Diverted Because Of A Seat Fight
The fight for airplane seat supremacy continues this week with a story from Florida about a plane that was forced to land after an unruly passenger made a fuss about a woman who was trying to recline her seat.
WPTV spoke with a passenger who said he was sitting next to the aforementioned seat recliner during the Monday night flight.
"This woman who was sitting next to me knitting actually tried reclining her seat back and the woman behind her started screaming and swearing and the flight attendant came over and that just exacerbated what was going on, and then she demanded that the flight land," Aaron Klipin said.
The flight was supposed to go from New York's LaGuardia Airport to Palm Beach International Airport but it had to be diverted to Jacksonville.
The Associated Press reports that the unruly passenger, identified as 32-year-old Amy Fine of Boca Raton, told authorities she was just emotional over the death of her two dogs.
No charges are expected to be filed against Fine.
This is the third flight to be diverted due to a seat fight on an airplane in the last few days.

Minnesota Woman Chows Down 93 Different State Fair Foods For Make-A-Wish Foundation
Mandy Colten said she usually eats clean. So you can imagine why consuming 5,000-6,000 calories a day on all things fried, sweet and savory at the Minnesota State Fair left her "bogged down" and "just a little bit slower."
She didn't overindulge in hopes of conquering an insatiable appetite, though -- she chowed down for a good cause.
Colten ate all 93 menu items at the fair that were served on a stick during the Falcon Heights event from Aug. 21 - Sept. 1. She said she accomplished her goal by eating between 10 to 16 different items from various vendors each day, according to CBS Minnesota. Colten took a picture of each snack she consumed, sharing the images and updates on social media and the challenge's website. By spreading the word on her unique goal, the Twin Cities woman was hoping to raise awareness and funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation allows children in the U.S. with life-threatening medical conditions to live out their biggest wishes by funding trips, experiences and projects around the world. The organization, which grants a wish to a child roughly every 38 minutes, strives to make each wish match the child's "idea of a perfect day," according to its website.
Colten -- who kept a list of all the foods she conquered, including deep fried s'mores, chicken nachos and teriyaki ostrich -- even took time off work to commit to the challenge.
"You only live once," she wrote on the challenge's website. "I love food and I love the fair and I can. So I am asking you, 'Why not do it?' ... If I can raise money for a good cause and do something I love, it seems silly to not do it."
After finishing her last food on a stick item, Colten said her sluggish moods were well worth the experience:
"Folks I haven’t talked to in years reached out to offer support," she wrote on the challenge website. "It has truly been overwhelming the amount of love I have felt throughout this challenge. Not only have people been sending messages and saying hello at the fair, they have also been supporting with generous donations. I cannot say thank you loud enough."

A Pennsylvania woman suspected of robbing a Walmart is also accused of leaving her 1-year-old niece behind.
Djuna M. Tansmore, 48, was arrested Thursday in Rostraver Township after store surveillance video caught her allegedly attempting to exit the store with $86.58 worth of laundry detergent and Miracle Whip in a grocery cart, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.
When the store's loss prevention officer approached Tansmore, she tried to undo the safety strap that held her niece to the cart.
Rostraver Township Police Chief Greg Resetar told WTAE TV that's when the struggle over the baby in the car seat began.
"The straps weren't released and it sort of tipped the cart, and she sort of was trying to shake it, moving around, trying to dislodge the baby from the mechanism," Resetar said.
Video obtained by the station appears to show the baby in the seat being yanked back and forth with the cart nearly tipping, then being dragged behind the baby seat.
The suspect allegedly fled the scene, leaving the toddler behind, according to PennLive.com.
Tansmore was arrested a short time later near her home in Monessen, Pennsylvania. She was charged with retail theft, recklessly endangering another person, use/possession of drug paraphernalia and endangering the welfare of children, according to WPXI TV.
She was placed in the Westmoreland County Prison in Hempfield Township after failing to post $10,000 bond. She will have a preliminary hearing on Sept. 9.
The child eventually was released at the store to the custody of its mother, according to police.

Faced with fierce cats in Kenya's Masaai Mara National Park, this plucky mongoose opted to fight back. Videographer Jerome Guillaumot captured the scene in 2011, but only recently released the footage online.
In the video, the mongoose repeatedly bares its teeth, emits a terrifying squealing noise and charges the lions, who retreat in the face of such aggression. Though the small animal ultimately escapes to safety in a burrow, it later emerges to mount a second attack.
Mongooses, notes National Geographic, are famously brave animals. Some species are known to attack venomous cobras.
Of the International Union for Conservation of Nature's 39 listed species of mongoose, seven are categorized as "vulnerable," "endangered" or "critically endangered" due to loss of habitat.

Tiny Arachnids Do Indeed Live On Your Face, Scientists Say
Talk about creepy! You may think your morning shower did its job, but odds are a bunch of microscopic mites are crawling on your face and living in your pores at this very moment.
In fact, new research suggests that a specific genus of these tiny parasitic creatures called Demodex are way more common on the faces of human adults than previously thought. Just check out the video above to see one of the little critters in action.
"The surprise is that these mites seem to be on nearly all or even all adults, even though they are rare or maybe even entirely absent on younger people," study co-author Dr. Rob Dunn, a biologist at North Carolina State University, told The Huffington Post in an email.
How do the mites make their way onto our faces to begin with? Dunn said the answer to that question remains a "fundamental mystery."
For their study, the researchers scraped a metal spatula along the noses and cheeks of 253 men and women to collect samples of their faces' microscopic ecosystem. Then the researchers extracted DNA from the sebum -- the oily substance produced by the sebaceous glands -- of another group of 19 adults.
What did the researchers find? Mites were visible in only 14 percent of the scraped skin samples, but DNA from the mites was spotted in all of the 19 adults.
The finding certainly shows the mites are even more ubiquitous than scientists thought. But that's just the beginning.
"This research can help us tell a compelling story of our own human history," study co-author Megan Thoemmes, a graduate student in biology at North Carolina State University, told The Huffington Post. "The genetic diversity and structure we are seeing in the Demodex mites can help us to better understand... how human populations have radiated around the world."

Incredulous Little Girl Refuses To Believe Hello Kitty Is Anything Other Than A Cat
When the L.A. Times reported that Sanrio's iconic Hello Kitty character might not actually be a cat, kids (and adults) everywhere had trouble accepting the news. One unconvinced little girl's reasoning for her disbelief is pretty sound.

Tim Tebow Drafted By More Fantasy Teams Than Starting Quarterback Chad Henne
Perhaps these fantasy football contestants are living in a fantasy world.
On Tuesday, ESPN pointed out that more teams in its fantasy leagues drafted the out-of-football Tim Tebow than Jaguars starting QB Chad Henne and other active quarterbacks.
In fact, the draft list shows that the Tebow faithful chose him over other quarterbacks who are active on NFL rosters, including Washington's Kirk Cousins and Philadelphia's Mark Sanchez.
Tebow has not played a regular season game since 2012 and got cut by the Patriots before the 2013 season. Henne, while nobody's idea of John Elway, will at least start the Jaguars' opening game on Sept. 7, his coach said.
For the uninitiated, fantasy teams "draft" players who score points based on their statistical output each game, and the teams compete against each other in leagues.
Given that Tebow is currently an analyst for the SEC Network, it would take, well, a miracle at this point for him to contribute to an NFL team, let alone an ESPN fantasy league team.

Happy Accident With Garden Hose Leads To 'Really Significant' Stonehenge Discovery
Research at Stonehenge is going in circles--literally. And that's a good thing.
A prolonged drought has revealed that the mysterious monument's ancient stones, which currently arc in a semicircle, likely once formed a complete circle. The source of this discovery? A garden hose, used for watering the grounds, that was too short to reach the monument's far side.
While the grounds around Stonehenge are typically lush and green, the monument experienced an unusually dry summer in 2013. As a result, a groundskeeper noticed odd patterns emerging in the scorched grass that seemed to indicate places where stones would be, if the monument were a full circle.

An aerial image of the parched grass at Stonehenge, provided to The Huffington Post by English Heritage, indicates the likely position of missing stones. Placeholders for the vanished stones are indicated by yellowed grass in the lower left of the stone arrangement.
"I was standing on the public path looking at the grass near the stones and thinking that we needed to find a longer hosepipe to get the parched patches to green up," Tim Daw, the groundskeeper, told the BBC. "A sudden lightbulb moment in my head, and I remembered that the marks were where archaeologists had looked without success for signs that there had been stone holes, and that parch marks can signify them ... Not being archaeologists we called in the professionals to evaluate them."
The professionals had a look and confirmed Daw's suspicions. Susan Greaney, an archaeologist with English Heritage, the group that manages Stonehenge, called the discovery "really significant."
"We maintain the grass with watering when it's very dry in the summer, but our hosepipe doesn't reach to the other side of the stone circle. If we'd had a longer hosepipe we might not have been able to see them," Greaney told The Telegraph, referring to the newly discovered scorch marks. "A lot of people assume we've excavated the entire site and everything we're ever going to know about the monument is known ... but actually there's quite a lot we still don't know and there's quite a lot that can be discovered just through non-excavation methods."
Thanks to Daw's keen eye and an inadequate garden hose, we now know Stonehenge may not have been left deliberately incomplete. As for the groundskeeping, a spokesperson for English Heritage told The Guardian that it might now skimp on watering other portions of the site, in the hopes of learning more.

Penn State Student Gains Reputation As The Squirrel Whisperer
STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- A Penn State student is gaining an Internet reputation as a "squirrel whisperer" for befriending, feeding and dressing up a furry little friend she has named "Sneezy."
Junior Mary Krupa tells WJAC-TV ( http://bit.ly/1B9IvPf ) that she's able to dress up the squirrel in party hats, or get Sneezy to hold doll-sized props, simply by feeding the animal.
Krupa and Sneezy's exploits are chronicled in a Facebook page titled "Sneezy the Penn State Squirrel."
So far, the squirrel is proving quite popular as its Facebook page has more "likes" that a page dedicated to the school's official mascot, the Nittany Lion.

Police Chief Decapitates Boy's Pet Chicken
A mother has filed a formal complaint against a Minnesota police department after her 5-year-old son's pet chicken was decapitated by the chief.
Atwater Police Chief Trevor Berger said he killed the chicken on Aug. 16th because it violated the city's ordinance that prohibits fowls, the West Central Tribune reported.
Though Ashley Turnbull admits she had received warnings at least a week in advance about the ordinance, she said there was no reason to beat her son's chicken to death with a shovel before decapitating it.
Turnbull said the chicken had been a birthday gift for her son, Phoenix.
“The chicken was like a puppy dog to my son,” Turnbull told the publication. “You wouldn’t do that to a puppy.”
Berger said he arrived at the home and chased the chicken in a nearby yard for 10 to 15 minutes before deciding to stop it with a shovel.
The police chief said he didn't want to dispatch the chicken with a gun because children were playing nearby. He also claimed he didn't realize the chicken's head had been left in the yard when he left the scene.
“I guess I don’t regret it, because it’s like taking care of any rodent in town,” Berger said.
“I still feel he owes my son an apology and he owes us a chicken," Turnbull said.
The issue will be addressed Wednesday at a city council meeting.

Couple Stranded On Sailboat For Week After Captain's Bold Move
Bogdan and Elizabeth Makowski planned on a one- to two-day boating trip in the Gulf of Mexico -- until everything that could have gone wrong went wrong.
Bogdan wasn't worried when the sailboat's motor broke down near Anciote Key, Florida last weekend.
"I don't care about this because I am a sailor," he told WTSP.
But that was only the beginning of their problems. Their mast jammed their sail, rendering it useless, according to WFTV. They had no means of calling for help. Good weather meant they weren't even floating in the right direction. They spent a week stranded at sea with no food and little water -- they'd consumed it all on the first day.
Then, a storm rolled in.
"My engine was broken, and I had no wind and now a storm," Bogdan, 69, told WTSP. "We roped together and slept together like 25 years ago."
It wasn't until Labor Day weekend that luck finally struck the Makowskis. A friend had called the local U.S. Coast Guard station on Aug. 26, and crews spotted the couple 10 miles offshore in the early hours of Aug. 30. The boat was beat-up, but the Makowskis looked pretty good, considering their circumstances.
"They were very relieved to see us, very excited, but they were actually in good shape," said Ryan O'Hare with the Coast Guard. "They were moving around. They were in good spirits. The only thing they requested is a nice cool bottle of water."
