John Thain, a photojournalist with CBS affiliate KTVA in Anchorage, Alaska, captured this footage of a moose mother giving birth on the side of a road last Friday.
One of the newborns has a bit of trouble with its first steps, but eventually it finds its footing and the three scamper off into the woods.
If you ever encounter a moose, remember you should never approach it. "The key to coexisting with moose is to avoid confrontations by giving moose plenty of space," the Alaska Department of Fish and Game explains. If a moose charges you, "run or walk quickly and get behind something solid, like a tree, or retreat to a safe place, like inside a building or car."
