Got $725 Million? Buy The 'World's Most Expensive Estate' (PHOTOS)

The W.T. Waggoner Ranch is larger than Manhattan and for a cool $725 million, it could be yours.

The ranch sits on 510,000 acres of contiguous land and it's the "largest estate in the world," Sotheby's Briggs Freeman told The Huffington Post.

Freeman also said it's currently the world's most expensive estate.

The ranch spans six counties in northern Texas. That's 800 square miles, where you'll find 7,500 cows, 500 quarter horses, 20 cowboy camps and several huge lakes, according to the news agency SWNS.

The ranch was bought in 1849 by Dan Waggoner and expanded by his son, W.T. Waggoner. In 1902, while digging for water, the family struck oil. There are now more than 1,000 wells pumping thousands of barrels of oil a year, SWNS reports.

"This is a once-in-a-century opportunity," Freeman said. "It's never changed hands before."

The sale comes after a long family feud between the Waggoner heirs, the Associated Press reported last year, when the property was first listed.

Finally, the family agreed to liquidate. Freeman began showing prospective buyers around earlier this year. "There is an overwhelming amount of interest," he said. "We’re very focused right now."

Local residents worry that the a profit-minded buyer will divide up the land and fire ranch employees, turning a blind eye to the estate's historic roots, according to the AP.
