WATCH: "Wheelz" Wins The Internet With Epic Wheelchair Stunts

A fearless 23-year-old is showing people the true power of perseverance through death-defying stunts and terror-inducing twists, including an unbelievable double backflip -- and he's doing it from the seat of his wheelchair.

Decked out with a helmet, gloves and, of course, his chair, Aaron "Wheelz" Fotheringham is capturing audiences' attention for both his amazing tricks and his great sense of humor.

Fotheringham was born with spina bifida, a birth defect that occurs when the spinal column does not close all the way, according to the Spina Bifida Association.

However, he hasn't let his setback stop him, and his commitment and passion toward being a leader in the action sports industry means he now gets to shred with some of the most important names in BMX and skateboarding.

On YouTube, a video featuring Fotheringham boasts has over 4 million views. His personal YouTube channel has more than 30,000 subscribers.

He's credited for doing the first ever double backflip in a wheelchair, which he did at Woodward Camp in Pennsylvania in 2010.

And while he's not immune from falling, including a pretty brutal spill that once knocked him unconscious and made him nearly consider giving up his dream, he's continuously gotten back up to participate in these jaw dropping activities.

In a 2012 interview with Network A, Fotheringham talked about his motivation.

"If I can inspire people to look at a wheelchair a little different, you know, be more positive about it, then that will change all the stereotypes of people being in wheelchairs not being able to do anything for themselves," he said.
