Maybe it was power-hungry.
A mountain lion perched atop a 35-foot-utility pole in the California desert Tuesday, giving gawkers a rare glimpse of the elusive cat.
According to Associated Press, a bus of screaming school children in Lucerne Valley gave the beast the heebie-jeebies, and it climbed up the pole. It was gone by Wednesday morning, the Daily Press of Victorville noted, but not before it earned lots of stares from passers-by who were being motioned away by Department of Fish and Wildlife authorities, the Daily Press noted. The big cat also generated some squawking among the birds who hang out there.
“It was funny,” observer Jose Ruiz told the Press. “It was like the one crow was saying, ‘Hey, you’re not a crow.’ "
