Move over, Lassie. There may be a new crime-busting pet in town.
Surveillance footage shows brave cat Daisy digging around in a man's bag just seconds after he'd swiped a charity donation box -- containing around $100 in cash -- at the Kitty Cat cafe in Nottingham, England, on Tuesday.
Was it just a coincidence? Or did the curious feline really know something was going down?
The man had gone into the tea shop, which doubles as a rehoming center for abandoned and stray cats, and asked a staffer about its work, the Nottingham Post reported.
But when the staffer's back was turned, the man swiped the tin -- the contents of which were due to be spent on veterinary bills for the organization's animals -- and hid it in his bag.
Cops are now hunting the thief, the West Bridgford Wire reported.
"It's horrible that someone could so brazenly do that. We've contacted the police and put it on Facebook so hopefully someone will know something," cafe owner Kate Charles-Richards told the Nottingham Post.
