Metallica's 'Enter Sandman,' Played Backward By Rob Scallon, Is An Instant Classic

YouTube sensation Rob Scallon is up to his old tricks, putting a distinct spin on a classic tune. This time, he's turned Metallica's "Enter Sandman" inside out.

First, Scallon learned the entire song backward. He played the guitar backward... the drums backward... the bass backward. He even taught himself the vocals backward, singing lines such as "denial leven reven ught-Fower Nich HA-mm-yes."

Then, he took his backward recording of the song and reversed it, turning it back into the 1991 metal anthem -- except now, it sounds as if it's playing on a radio underwater in a dream.

"Good god this was confusing," Scallon wrote on his Facebook page.

He did the stunt for "May-tallica" and is promising to have another video next week, with a song from the band's first album, "Kill 'Em All."

Scallon is known for his creative versions of popular music. In one video, he plays 30 songs in a minute. In another, he performs a Slayer song on the banjo.
