The human relationship with failure is complex. It can be debilitating, but it can also drive the individual to new heights of achievement. But when you're a dog, failure is a heck of a lot simpler: If it happened more than 10 seconds ago, it didn't happen at all.
It's easy to sympathize with these pooches. They go for the ball and entirely miss it. Their short legs can't do sand effectively. Similar failures would permanently ground the least of us. But does it stop them? Nope. Throw the ball again and they'll go for it. They'll keep trying to run on the beach, because dog's gotta run.
Is there wisdom in that approach? No. Without an understanding of consequence, risk-taking is just meaningless bravado. But a dog's persistence can certainly be admired.
Speaking of debilitating failure: We apologize for the awful music.
