4 Sharks Spotted Circling Swimmers At Manhattan Beach Pier

Four juvenile white sharks were reportedly seen circling swimmers at Manhattan Beach near Los Angeles on Sunday morning, according to local media.

No attacks by the sharks were reported. Los Angeles County Fire Department's Lifeguard Division said in a tweet they monitored the sharks for 30 minutes until they moved away from the beach.

At 10:30am the @LACoLifeguards in Manhattan beach received reports of 4 juvenile white sharks off the coast of the Manhattan Beach Pier.

The reports came in from helicopters above the finish of the @CatalinaClassic Paddleboard Race including a helicopter from @LAPDairsupport

The juvenile white sharks were monitored by @LACoLifeguards for 30 minutes until they were observed to move offshore.

Lifeguard Kylie Daniels told CBS Los Angeles the beach was not cleared of swimmers in accordance with protocol because the sharks were not larger than 8 feet.
