Clowns For Christ Spread God's Message One Balloon Animal At A Time

God moves in strange and mysterious ways, and even clowns around some times.

At least, some followers of a little known Methodist ministry like to clown around.

A loosely knit group in Ohio known as "Clowns for Christ" are doing the lord's work with puppets as well as prayers.

The followers' work revolves around performing for families and children. Dressed in clown costumes, members tell biblical stories with balloon animals, puppets and other props.

Judy Zyvith, who's been active in the group for 17 years, says their silly costumes serve to “break down barriers.”

“You can do anything in a clown costume,” she told Vindy.com, adding that is, anything appropriate for church.
